He couldn't deny he was glad to have his own place. Draco had taken great measures to ensure that his new apartment was decorated to his tastes, with the finest furniture he could find (in a complementary colour scheme focusing on green, of course), clean lines, and a touch of the traditional There was a small part of him that wanted to move back home, but then he remembered he was trying to make a life for himself. Part of that life meant exploring living on his own.
He had decorated minimally for Christmas, with a wreath on the wall and a small tree on a coffee table in the corner. Under the tree was a small collection of perfectly wrapped boxes, his gifts for his friends, and behind some of the more generic packages was the gift he had bought for the guest he was expecting.
Draco finished tidying up, tucking one of his many books away on a bookshelf as he heard the knock. Letting out a breath, he smoothed down his black shirt and walked over to the door.
"Hi," he said, seeing the (beautiful) woman on the other side. Leaning forward, he kissed her on the cheek, politely, before seemingly making his decision and pressing his lips to hers. "Happy Christmas."
