Creating a new character?
All magical characters who are employed must choose a business from the directory.
Each business may have no more than three characters per era with same position within the same department,
excluding businesses that rely entirely on that one position (e.g. cleaners at a cleaning service.)
Wizarding World Today North America ★ E|M|G|R|L ★ Harry Potter Canon
Welcome to Wizarding World Today! Wizarding World Today is an American news publication similar to The Daily Prophet. In addition to the daily newspaper, Wizarding World Today also hosts a nightly radio show so busy witches and wizards can get caught up on all the important news without having to pick up a paper and read it. The publication focuses mostly on domestic news such as crime, politics, entertainment, and sports but it does feature a small section on international news. Wizarding World Today is sold at most magical establishments throughout the United States but can also be delivered via owl post.
Located in the heart of New York City, Wizarding World Today has typical newsroom offices. The publication shares a space with other American magical publications in a building straight from the Gilded Age of the 1920s. Elevators to the 19th and 20th floors of the building will deposit employees and visitors to a bustling, chaotic yet strangely organized newsroom. Radios, police trackers, and the like are buzzing as reporters wait for the next big story or for details on stories they are already working on.
Memos, drafts, and mock-ups fly through the air above the numerous cubicles and desks where reporters sit to discuss what's going to be written and how it will be delivered: print or radio. The offices are so busy that it proves hard to break everyone's concentration.
Wizarding World Today also features a bevy of non-news articles and features. Some are:
Sports, such as quidditch and quodpot
Lifestyle & Beauty
Crosswords and Sudoku
American ex-patriots or anyone wanting to keep up on American magical news can subscribe to the newspaper and have it sent wherever they are in the world. The newspaper is also neutral in its reporting on the American Bureau of Magical Affairs which has earned it numerous journalism awards.
Each copy of Wizarding World Today also contains a section on local news for its subscribers. That means a subscriber from Pittsburgh will have Pittsburgh news while a subscriber in Omaha will get news about that city.
Wizarding World Today is a Harry Potter canon business created for the original book series. Ideas and theories may be expanded upon, but established canon details cannot be altered. We recommend using the Harry Potter Lexicon or Wiki as information resources. Other questions can be referred to our staff team via PM or help desk.
