Looking for co-workers and students!

Hi!

I have Doratholine Watson here who will be a Muggle Studies professor in Marauder, Golden, and Reformation. She's a sweet old lady that just wants the best for students, and is likely going to be the voice of reason in most cases. She's very passionate about her upbringing and life in a semi-muggle life - even more so for marrying a muggle too. She is a Squib, so she may have some people look down on her for that, but that's not necessary. Here are the main three types of characters she will likely connect with, but anyone can reply for some connections! This is her sheet here.

  • Students interested in Muggle Studies or needing a motherly figure
  • Professors to be friends or foes, depending on their stance with Muggles
  • Anybody willing to listen to an old woman talk about the war and her handsome husband

I have 3. But i like to talk about mark mainly for the sweethearts bc hes my only kind character. ( the others arent evil just snobby and pureblood focused.)

Hes a shy little ravenclaw whos troubled (pm for details) but kind at heart and just wants a blanket and a braille book to relax with. Student in golden.

by Minerva McGonagall
Minerva. Need I say more?

Actually maybe I will! What if Dora does a muggle inspired prank on Umbridge and Minerva figures it out. Maybe she writes an insulting letter in morse code thinking no one can read it?

Maybe she feeds the Weasley twins so muggle inspired recipes for stink bombs? I don't know...

@Mark Binx I can RP with any of them and you are welcome to PM me with more info if you think it's something they would speak to Dora about. If not, then it might be best to keep it under wraps as not to spoil anything ooc haha.

@Minerva McGonagall I think that would be pretty fun! I'm not sure how harsh Dora would be as she's a bit of a soft touch, but something tame like the morse code or stocking the food cupboard with microwave meals would be hilarious!

by Lily Evans
I'd like to offer Lily here! I think she'd click with Dora and Muggle Studies, just because it's a touch of home (even though over the years she's gotten used to the magic).

Meiriona is another option for Marauder, because after her boyfriend kind of dumped her to get together with Lily (coincidentally) she's been having a bit of a rough year. A motherly figure would be just what she needs.

Moving on to Golden, I'd also like to offer my ickle firstie Gareth Lewis who is way in over his head at Hogwarts. Even though he comes from a magical family, he's super shy and doesn't really know what he's doing half the time, even if he is inherently good at school. I could see him getting overwhelmed and hiding in some alcove and perhaps Dora finds him?

I've got Dianne to offer!

She was a student in Gryffindor in Marauder Era so would have known Dora as a teacher, and now she's a co-worker!

@Lily Evans I think all of those sound good to me. I will likely set a thread up where a couple of people can join in one of the eras, so any character is welcome for that. I'm sure Dora will be super mothering over Gareth. First years are cute.

@Dianne Osgood I bet that would be really fun to RP! Dora would love having a student become a co-worker!

If you feel up to doing a thread - feel free to join the open one I made at the staff table in Golden Era - here!

Not necessary, If anything right now he's more worried about the evil Umbridge than anything else. Question is, would she be willing to break rule 26 of him voicing such concerns? Or would she want to be safe? I think finding out during a thread might be interesting. :)

by Rian Mac Bradaigh
Hello! I have Rian here who is a Muggle and would have loved muggle studies mainly because he struggles with being a wizard a lot since his family is very against anything that is different to them. I feel Rian could have had a good connection with Dora since he would have liked to talk about his muggle life to make him feel more at home yknow. Plus with the fighting happening in Ireland at the time i feel like he would have liked to talk about how that made him feel to a very select group of people, one of whom may have been Dora!

@Dianne Osgood That looks great! I'll join soon!

@Mark Binx I think for the sake of her students, she would be willing to break a few rules if she believes it's in her student's best interests. So she would definitely be an open ear to Mark.

@Rian Mac Bradaigh That sounds good to me! She would likely love to talk to Rian about the Muggle world, and she too lived through a big war, so they could likely relate with that. They could definitely have a connection.

I will likely set up a Muggle Studies thread at some point for anyone to join!
