Use of Dementors on the Rise After Law is Amended
The current Minister of Magic, Harold Michium, recently revealed the amended law dictating limits on the number of Dementors eligible to be used at prisons and private residence. The law has now raised the previous restrictions, citing that rural and private residence with correct documentation may use up to two Dementors to protect owned land. The law has caused protesters to voice concerns over these uses, causing the Minister to keep the private localisation of Dementors on a trial-run basis over the course of four years before being implemented permanently.
Azkaban Prison is now also eligible to raise the number of Dementors used as prison guards outside the walls. The increase is expected to take affect in the coming months, and new job openings for Dementor wranglers have now become available.
The Minister hopes this will help lessen the current rumours of the Dark Lord, and deter dark wizards from making their presence known.
Muggle Seen Lurking Around Platform 9
Recent reports from locals and students on their way to Hogwarts have noted a woman sitting at platform 9 at King's Cross Station for hours.
One parent of a young witch said, 'She didn't seem to have any luggage, and appeared quite shocked to see so many owls.'
Another student stated to have seen another boy, prefect of Gryffindor house, James Potter, speaking to her. Her name is currently unknown, but witnesses have suggested she is a photographer or reporter due to her consistent note taking.
If you spot this woman lurking around magical areas, please inform the obliviating department immediately.
