Rum-Runners on the Run
New York City- Since the implementation of Prohibition, bootleg booze has been in circulation. With alcohol being illegal, it is hard to imagine someone getting their hands on the stuff, but, thanks to criminals known as rum runners, it’s becoming easier for people to obtain. Rum runners bring in prohibited alcohol from various places- notably the Appalacians where they are producing gin in bathtubs and recently whiskey from Canada, as well as champagne from France.
Illegal alcohol is then transported to cities and sneaked into illegal bars and taverns in strange places, such as basements, known as speakeasies. Many raids have been conducted on these illegal places of business, resulting in arrests and large amounts of booze being dumped into the streets. It is advised that citizens follow the law and do not seek out these locations and asked to report anything suspicious to local law enforcement.
Gellert Grindewald Escapes MACUSA!
Gellert Grindewald has escaped from MACUSA custody.
Earlier this week, the Magical Congress of the United States of America was scheduled to transport Grindewald out of New York and back to London. It was discovered that while in transport out of New York to the transfer location, a now-former MACUSA employee by the name of Abernathy switched places with the criminal, allowing the real Grindewald to go free. This discovery was made once the fake Grindewald was received by British aurors. The real Grindewald’s whereabouts are currently under investigation.
A MACUSA representative declined to comment.
