Situated in Manitoba, Canada, this summer camp and wizarding retreat center is one of few facilities like it in the world and every year attracts hundreds of witches and wizards from around the globe.
The camp is divided between three major areas surrounding the lake: the Ski Lodge and winter camp to the Northeast, the Retreat Center & Open Campground to the Northwest, and the bottom side of the lake is nearly entirely occupied by the Summer Camp, which primarily runs from June to August, but also hosts school groups in the fall and early spring. Due to the secluded nature of the camp, the only way to access it is via portkeys available at any wizarding government facility or through some travel agencies. As it is a popular destination, however, many agencies have regular portkeys to the area from all over the world.
Accessible year round, this part of the campus features a more upscale building meant for hosting corporate retreats, family gatherings, and weddings. It is often magically redecorated to fit whatever theme is needed and has interchangeable, movable walls that can be adjusted as needed to accommodate even the largest of events.
Nearby to the retreat center there also sits also an open air campground for tents nearby for those just looking to do a few days of camping out in the wilderness. A few cabins are available for rent, but most witches and wizards choose to bring their own tents from home, which are usually of the magically expanded variety. Rudimentary campsites are also available for those who wish to "rough it" with a non-magical camping experience.
From October to March, the Camp Wandsworth Ski Lodge is open for witches and wizards of all ages. Families are hosted in the main lodge and in some of the cabins, and there is also an area similar to the summer camp property that hosts campers ages 8-18 on their breaks from school, including many students from the southern hemisphere.
While the lodge is situated near a mountain range that allows them to have practice hills near to the actual camp, a special floo connection is used to transport those wishing to ski, snowboard, fly, or participate in any other winter sports to the more dangerous peaks.
