Business Overview
Location
Located in Snowdonia, Wales in the United Kingdom, the Wildlife Reserve sits on a several thousand acre piece of land to accommodate all of its inhabitants which include some of its employees who might need to stay overnight due to projects. Snowdonia Wildlife Reserve is introduced by a large gate where employees and guests of honor are allowed through. To preserve some of their most endangered creatures and their research, the Reserve does not allow regular visitors.
The land is then divided up into different districts, each assigned to a different group of similar wildlife. Apparation and Disapparation are not allowed within the Reserve to protect from just any poachers entering the premises. Thus, transportation across the Reserve is done by magically charmed trucks and jeeps that have a slightly higher “normal” speed than their muggle counterparts.
Creatures
Snowdonia is world renown for its dedication to the conservation and preservation of the magical world’s most magnificent creatures — which is, to everyone at the Reserve, all of the species they have within their refuge. Nearly everyone working for the Reserve is involved in some way with this mission. Breeders are often given the most credit as they pair up males and females from each species to create the most successful breeding and continue the species’ line. Then there are the handlers who help with raising newborns.
But there are other players involved in making sure these creatures live into the next generations. Researchers help the process by studying a creature’s eating, sleeping, and social habits among other things. Their research helps educators and the public understand how important these creatures are to the magical world. It can also help make sure that whatever offspring born are healthy.
And, finally, even directors have a helping hand in the entire process. They make sure that the Reserve acquires the correct funding from the British Ministry of Magic or other organizations and private donations that can accommodate the creatures’, and employees’, livelihoods. The organization is a not-for-profit and so directors are charged with hosting charity events to raise money for their mission. Without funding, there would be no Snowdonia Wildlife Reserve!
