Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop can be found in Hogsmeade Village near Hogwarts School. The shop is wood painted silver in color with a black sign hanging from the building, the name of the shop written in beautiful calligraphy. The interior has a certain air of fragility about it as if one wrong turn can send a whole display crashing to the floor. Which is highly possible if one were to wander too closely to the ink wells.

Sections such as quills, inks, and parchment are marked off throughout Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop. Long quills, short quills, black ink, purple ink, and the finest stationary one can find this side of Scotland. Once a customer has gathered all the supplies they need, they can head towards the till at the front of the shop to pay for their goods.

As soon as a visitor enters this particular quill shop, the smell of furniture polish and parchment is pungent. But, despite the smell, Scrivenshaft’s has an old, academic feel to it where the wood is worn and the floorboards creak slightly. At the back of the shop is the counter, holding a few pots of colour-changing ink. Hung up behind the counter is a chalkboard filled with the names and prices of the majority of the items in the shop, the exception being the antique quills.

Products
The antique quills are in a large bookshelf to the left of the room, shielded by glass. The prices, names and a brief description of each fine quill is written on a note card placed in front of it in gold ink. Below the special quills are binders of professional parchment designed to withhold such dense and expensive ink without blotting or smearing. By the counter, near a small arch that leads into the backroom is a wheeled ladder, used to reach the top shelves where calligraphy equipment resides.

During Winter months, Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop will introduce a limited edition ‘W-ink-ter collection’, including stationary sets revolving around whites, silvers and reds. And of course, glitter ink. Such things are shown on the exclusive display shelf to the right of the shop, nearest the window, often decorated with tinsel in such times. Aside from that, the rest of the large bookcases are stocked with everything necessary for the perfect hand-work, from highly intricately designed parchment, to the daily necessity.
