Welcome to Nile Textiles & Weavery! For centuries, Egypt’s best weavers have created beautiful carpets for those looking to add something exotic to their living space and even for the International Carpet Racers League. They use only the finest fibers found inside the country. Customers can purchase customized carpets or buy textiles by the bulk. Many fashion houses around the magical world buy their stock from Nile Textiles & Weavery.

Location

Nile Textiles & Weavery is part of the open air bazaar located in Cairo, Egypt. It’s a sprawling tent near to Amoud’s Artefact Warehouse. Weavers can be seen working on the looms located on the edges of the open tent while fabrics and carpets are kept inside to shield them from the elements. It is also considerably cooler inside the tent if a customer is looking for a reprieve from the Egyptian sun.

Inside the tent are carpets of every design imaginable displayed on the floor, hanging from walls, and able to be flipped through as if one were flipping the pages of a book. Another wall contains various bolts of fabric stacked high in compartments and in compartments on the floor.

Textiles
Nile Textiles and Weavery prides itself on continuing the old practice of Ancient Egyptian weaving techniques and fibers used. It’s the only place one can buy whole bolts of linen made from flax grown in a controlled greenhouse associated with the company. But while they celebrate their history, Nile Textiles always welcomes new techniques from all over the world. In addition to weaving and dying fabrics in as many styles as customers want, weavers are also able to imbue charms, hexes, and any other magic requested by a customer. These are a little more expensive than normal orders due to the time and magical skill needed to perform such work, but Nile Textiles stands by the quality of the final product.

Weaving and dying classes are held each month for potential employees. Nile Textiles often reviews the work done by students and will offer them work immediately. Others made need to work on their craft just a bit longer before applying for a position. Existing employees are encouraged to expand their skill. Classes at Nile Textiles are held for employees as well. Some are sent to other countries to learn other techniques as well.

Because of the time and care placed in training employees. Nile Textiles & Weavery is a celebrated fabric supplier to the fashion world. Designers, established and aspiring, come from all corners of the globe sometimes for just half a bolt of Nile Textiles fabric. The company’s fabric has been seen on runways recently in France and Italy for which the company takes immense pride in.
