Business Overview

Welcome to Madame Puddifoot’s Tea Shop! A cute and dainty tea shop decorated with frilly napkins and lacy doilies. Established 1956 and 1960, Madame Puddifoot’s is a must-see attraction in the quaint village, Hogsmeade. It attracts everyone from students on a school trip to elderly witches and wizards out for afternoon tea. Everything is delicate, enticing, and utterly delicious (and often topped with a small pink bow).

Location

Located off the high street in Hogsmeade, Scotland, Madame Puddifoots Tea Shop stands out with its pink exterior decor. On the outside, it had bay windows, often slightly fogged up and decorated with decals of floral patterns and lace. There are often displays of fine china and offers on the day’s speciality cakes and other baked goods.

Upon entering the building, it is clear that things are kept clean and pristine to maintain the delicate impression. Tables are lined with frilly cloths, all china sets match perfectly with dainty patterns and embellishments, and photos of artistic watercolours are hung on the wall. At the back of the room is the main counter, where a large selection of cakes, buns, biscuits and tea flavours are on display.

Madame Puddifoot’s is favous for it’s petite and pretty cakes, but they are also rather famous for their delightful selection of flavoured black, green, and herbal teas.

• Earl Pink
• Pumpkin & Pomegranate
• Siren’s Oolong
• Dragon’s Breathe Chai
• Silver Needle
• Charmed Chamomile
• Jasmine & Jinxes

All teas are served in a large bone china teapot with matching teacups, saucers, sugar bowls, and milk jogs. All crockery is enchanted so that if damaged, they instantly repair themselves. Some of these are plain white, and the cracks formed are turned into the intricate patterns – thought this practice is less common after students began to purposely break the teacups.

It is required for all cakes to be eaten with a small three-pronged fork, and it is frowned upon to eat large, unsightly bites. Because of this, it is a common place for couples to eat as it forces both parties to remain polite and poised whilst eating. Usually, soft and calming music is played in the background, and this may also be themed during Holidays and special occasions. On such occasions, specialized cakes and teas will be made available for a limited time.
