Business Overview

Location 

The building has three major wings, one devoted to Physical Injuries, one dedicated to Mental Injuries, and the third focuses on Spiritual Injuries and Experimental Healing. The entryway and center lobby also house a small coffee shop, a cafeteria, and a bookstore that seems to hold shelves upon shelves of mysterious (and possibly uninteresting) books for patients and family members to borrow. The campus also includes an area enchanted to seem as if it is outdoors, which features both a relaxing healing garden and a meditation labyrinth along with a number of fresh grown herbs to be used in potions at the facility.

Healing
Founded in August 1967 by San Francisco resident Sebastian Moonflower, the Hospice began as only a few rooms in an old wooden townhouse on Haight St, a solution for the many injuries and mishaps encountered by young witches and wizards venturing out on their own to participate in the wild and interesting “Hippie Culture” that Muggles had made popular. Moonflower, enjoying the culture himself, not only helped to aid those in need, but also began performing experimental healing on some of the more willing patients, to try and achieve new and more efficient ways of healing – some of which were not always so successful, but he gave them a good try. As the wizarding community of the city grew, including many families who chose to take up residence due to the close proximity of the hospice, so did the facilities. Magically expanded and winding partway underground, the hospice grew to several floors and wings, each with it’s own dedicated cause.

The founder, Sebastian Moonflower, was born on a bright summer’s day at precisely 2:15 in the afternoon, on the 16th day of August in the year of 1939, and it so happened to be a Wednesday. Though born and raised amongst purebloods in Northern California, Moonflower relocated to the coast as a young adult, finding he enjoyed the city life and the Muggle culture. He soon took up an internship studying magical medicine with a private healer by the name of Bishop Crowley, an immigrant from Wales. Having founded the Hospice at the bright young age of 28, he continues to work in the Experimental Healing facilities to this day. He currently lives just down the road with the hospital’s Chief Spiritual Advisor, Rufus Coriander, and their sixteen Pomeranians.
