A favorite spot for Hogwarts students visiting Hogsmeade on the weekends, Dominic Maestro’s carries an ample selection of musical instruments and sheet music along with a wide variety of records and radios. Lessons are also offered for those wishing to continue pursuing their art and enhancing their musical talents, and those in need of instrument repair will find a friendly face there to assist with whatever has broken, whether it needs a magical fix or a mechanical one.
Location
Dominic Maestro’s Music Shop sits along the main thoroughfare in Hogsmeade. The shop is inside a small brick building with a vaulted ceiling. There is a warmth to the shop when one enters it. Classical music, composed by either the Maestro himself or another wizarding composer, is played throughout one’s shopping experience.
The shelves in Dominic Maestro’s Music shop are lined with various items needed to keep instruments clean and playing their best. Other aisles contain sheet music books to help music students or if any instrumentalist is looking to keep up their practice. Instruments are sold at the counter in the back of the store.
Dominic Maestro’s strives to be a one-stop-music-shop for all of the British wizarding world, and as such offers a wide variety of products for anyone willing to spend the right amount of money. Their primary focus is on traditional music, and as such they have aisles upon aisles of sheet music, strings and reeds, and an expansive display of instruments available for purchase. Other aisles contain a record collection for those who would like to listen to music rather than play it, and a great number of record players and radios for playing such things on.
The shop also prides itself on being the sole sponsor of the Hogwarts Choral Club, providing all of the sheet music needed and assistance in tuning and repairing instruments used in the club from time to time. Students who participate in the club can receive a ten percent discount on all of their purchases.
In addition to the items sold, Dominic Maestro’s also offers a number of repair services for instruments, record players, and radios alike. Many repairs can be completed with magic instantly, but those that require a bit more focus can be dropped off and the customer can pick them back up later. For the right price, the staff of Dominic Maestro’s is also happy to enchant the instrument, radio, record player, or piece of sheet music of your choice provided that the charm in question cannot be considered a hex, jinx, or another brand of unsavory magic.
