Welcome to Call To Arms!

New networking threads are posted every week by the Vault 713 staff, with each era getting a new one at least every other week. Threads are closed after four weeks of being open to make room for new Call To Arms options. This is a great place to find other characters that yours may know, find others for a plot that's relevant to a specific Call To Arms, or help fill in your character's list of friends, enemies, and family members based on the networking options in each thread.

Hello!

So my character Simone works as an herbologist for the Wizarding Expedition Society which means he travels A LOT especially when he hears about new and exciting plants that need to be studied! He graduated from Beauxbatons in 1987 and lives in Italy.

Some thread ideas that I think would be interesting to get Simone involved in are ones where he does not speak the language. He knows Italian, French, and English and maybe some words here and there in some other European Romance languages that he's picked up from work, but that's about it.

I think Simone would fit quite well with any other Society members and travel agents (someone has to help him book his trips), or maybe even some normal citizens within some cities that he's grown to become friends with over the years (and boards him to save on money).

Who has some thread ideas? I'm always open for more :)

Well well well. Erikur also happens to be a frequent traveller. Simone doesn't happen to require dealings in shady business, does he? A "medicine" perhaps, that he's run out of? A particularly Dark artifact that needs examining? Of course, as an acquisitions specialist for Amoud's Artifact Warehouse, Erikur is also quite skilled at examining more, shall we say, socially acceptable artifacts as well. I'm sure a W.E.S. member could have use in that area somehow, non?

As far as languages go, Erikur is quite proficient in a number of languages, including Polish, Danish, and Icelandic. While I'm pretty sure most people in Iceland speak English, what if Simone was trying to translate something in Icelandic and needed help? Of course, Erikur will never do anything for free....

Well, I have Catherine here who's a Quidditch player (at least in Reformation, I've yet to get her set up in Golden :P). Currently she's playing for Heidelberg in Germany at the moment and she's previously played for Braga in Portugal and Vratsa in Bulgaria. She's originally from Norway so she speaks that fluently, along with Portuguese and English. She's learning German at the moment and remembers a few key phrases in Bulgarian :P

Unless she just got hit in the head with a bludger (not impossible!) she'd probably understand English fairly well. I should also note that she went to Durmstrang so she's got friends in all sorts of weird places (and her youngest sister is a Potions geek), though she tries to stay away from the darker minded ones these days.

So yeah, she's not quite the best fit for a W.E.S. member, but she socialize splendidly so she could easily have run into someone and befriended them over the years :)

Otherwise I have Frida Holmengaard, who's a Security Specialist in Reformation at the Scandinavian Wizardthing so she travels a lot to security conferences and on similar missions. In Golden she's interning, though I haven't figured out just where yet :) She might be someone you'd have to go through to get to certain locations in Scandinavia that aren't open to everyone, so that could be a thread :)

oh wow! okay so many options hahaha

For Erikur, Simone was an explorer in Golden so if Erikur was with Amoud's during that time, they could have very well met on Simone's adventures to find whatever artefacts the Society needed to preserve or what have you. He's probably been to Egypt plenty of times so the could have a long-standing business history in Reformation

For Catherine, I could definitely see them being old friends! Every time she gets traded, he's like OH PERFECT A NEW PLACE TO CRASH on his travels. We could do a thread in Reformation like that.

I have Mary here who in Reformation is working as a Magizoologist for the Wizarding Expedition Society, so she tends to travel frequently.

Mary and Simone: Name a place and I'll have Erikur there. He's a really laid-back yet seedy character, so he's a great person if you want to add a bit of drama/secrecy into your characters' lives. Though translations and the related would still work.

That being said, you have to give him some good incentive if he's going to meet up with you. Money, information, something rare. He's also a drug-pusher, whether or not you want to incorporate that into your ideas.

Heyo lovely people, just thought I'd throw Noah here into the mix and see if anyone plucks him for a thread. He's a chaser for the Wimbourne Wasps so that in itself requires a lot of traveling, but very soon he is going to be frequenting Romania when he can. He loves travelling, loves meeting people and loves alcohol. I am up for anything with him, but I do love me some drama.
clean shirt, new shoes
and I don't know where I am goin' to.
silk suit, black tie,
i don't need a reason why.

Alcohol? Alex loves alcohol too. XD Ever since the Battle of Hogwarts when her boyfriend disappeared she hasn't been traveling much, but sometimes the great horizon just beckons for you to come.

If she does head off, she would probably (kinda subconsciously) still be looking for Steve. And possibly get drunk....

If anyone is interested, for the moment i have Dana here who is a dragon tamer in Reformation and is very interested in magizoology, so she travels a bit to check out other dragon reserves and to study other magical creatures in their natural habitats to brush up on her magizoology.

Hit me a PM if you'd ever like to thread ^^

Hey Lorwin, Alex wouldn't be looking for anything a little stronger than alcohol, would she? Or perhaps, maybe something to supplement it on those really off days? Reasonable rates, and Erikur's pretty easy to get ahold of in that area.....

If she's at all interested in perusing Erikur's wares, send a PM my way and we'll see if we can't get them to meet up in some seculded location. Be warned though, some of his items are so good they're.....addictive.

Now what would a fine upstanding fashion designer want with Erikur's potions? If she's having difficulty with her transformations, he could perhaps make a nice Wolfsbane Potion, with his own little twist of course.

Always know that everything Erikur does is for the benefit of himself. There is always a cost. Is she willing to pay?
